How to find a Yellowbelly?
The places fish are found are called “structures”, for example, a submerged log, weed beds or rocky wall/boulder, are perfect places to find fish homes. Fish seek these places out to school, for protection and also for ambush. Some species, like the Bass, seek the above places out but are very territorial and may guard the structure against other fish including other Yellowbelly for protection, schooling, ambush or mating. There are many ways to catch a Yellowbelly but the principles are universal. You must first find the food source and the structures that hold the food source and then you will stand a good chance of catching fish. We suggest a sounder to identify submerged logs and/or boulders etc. or you can fish rock walls or little bays with plenty of sticks in them.
(Note: Fish are active at dawn and dusk ½ to full moon phases)

A Yellowbelly, when he’s not feeding, could not care less about a lure, soft plastic etc. to eat. Yet the weird shape and flashing blades are a challenge that most Bass cannot refuse.
